The Mayor’s Office of Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence provides timely and accurate information to survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and other audiences in the Houston region. The resources collected inform survivors and the public on the next steps once they discern abuse indicators, such as where to report, where survivors can find emergency social services including shelter, how to obtain a restraining order, and how to further support victims with limited English proficiency.
Additional resources provide guidance on how to continually support survivors with legal and social services, free resources for skills training, and help with job placement. There is also guidance for survivors on how to deal with the risks of retaliation and re-victimization. Organizations and professionals serving survivors can find helpful resources.
